Front-discharge trucks make it safer and easier to pur. When you need concrete mixed to a specific grade and delivered promptly, contact Bigfork Ready Mix, home of the front-discharge mixers. With operations in Bigfork and Pablo, Bigfork Ready Mix is owned and operated by Scott Lambson, who opened the business in July.

Safety is a priority at Bigfork Ready Mix. The company uses front-discharge trucks that make pouring easy and safe. Front-discharge trucks allow the driver to operate controls at the front of the vehicle for better visibility and easier access, so there is no need for assistance.

There is a science to producing quality concrete. Bigfork Ready Mix designs and analyzes each type of mix in the lab. This also includes testing to determine air and slump content as well as strength.

Using a sophisticated computer batching system, Bigfork Ready Mix blends an accurate ration of cement, aggregate and chemicals specific to each job. For example, concrete used for walls is typically 3,000 psi, while concrete used for slabs is 3,000 to 4,000 psi — the mix depends on the application. After the concrete has set up, break testing can also be provided if necessary to determine the amount of force the concrete can withstand.

The company has a fleet of 15 trucks, capale of holding up to 10 yards of concrete. Many are fortified with six axels to disperse weight evenly on the road for minimal stress. The front-discharge design allows drivers to place concrete anywhere.

Bigfork Ready Mix is proud of its drivers, who are careful, courteous and experienced in concrete applications. The company is managed by Gib Delano, who oversees operations in conjunction with owner Scott Lambson. Jake Mathwig is the shop supervisor who keeps the fleet in order and is very safety conscious. Sales is led by Matt Gollahon, who has a great rappaport with local contractors and goes out of his way to help his customers.

“Between the drivers and managers, our company has more than 100 years of combined experience,” said Lambson.

In addition to safety, Bigfork Ready Mix is careful with the environment. The company is currently building a concrete reclaiming system to minimize waste. The reclaiming system can separate and recycle used material.
